IKEducation D-Day Program: "Primarily Omaha Beach"

Thursday, June 6, 2019

General Eisenhower famously said, "Plans are worthless, but planning is everything.” That could not have been more true for the 160,000 troops who landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Participants are introduced to the overall objective of D-Day and how so many things went wrong. They will then apply that knowledge through examination of documents, artifacts, and personal stories from Omaha Beach. Most appropriate for learners from 7th grade through adult. Sessions will begin at 12:00, 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. in Classroom #1, the north half of the Visitors Center auditorium.
