EVENT CANCELLED: Holocaust Remembrance film: "Denial" (2016)

Sunday, April 26, 2020

Notice: Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Effective Friday, March 13 at 5 p.m. CDT, the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum is closed to the public until further notice. Film summary: Based on her acclaimed book "History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier," this film recounts Deborah E. Lipstadt’s (Rachel Weisz) legal battle for historical truth against David Irving (Timothy Spall), who accused her of libel when she declared him a Holocaust denier. In the United Kingdom legal system, in cases of libel, the burden of proof is on the defendant, therefore it was up to Lipstadt and her legal team, led by Richard Rampton (Tom Wilkinson), to prove the essential truth that the Holocaust occurred.
