Dane G. Hansen Foundation Grant Advances Museum Project into Final Phase
We love to share good news with our Friends of the Eisenhower Foundation and today marks a very special day. The Eisenhower Foundation is honored to announce the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, based in Logan, Kansas, has committed an additional gift toward the Dwight D. Eisenhower: A Legacy of Leadership Capital Campaign. This gift comes at a crucial time, advancing the Eisenhower Presidential Museum exhibit renovation project into the final phase, scheduled to begin May 14. Thanks to this recent gift, the total raised to date is now $10.4 million -- 89% of the overall $11,750,000 goal.
The Dane G. Hansen Foundation and Eisenhower Foundation share a longtime partnership. Dane G. Hansen, a fellow Kansan, was a close personal friend of Dwight D. Eisenhower and was also a trusted advisor. Mr. Hansen served on the Eisenhower Foundation Board of Trustees during the formative years of the organization and was instrumental in developing the entire Eisenhower Presidential Campus. In the years since, the Dane G. Hansen Foundation has supported temporary exhibits, education programs, and even the introductory film shown in our Visitors Center.
Today, on VE-Day -- May 8th -- some 73 years after General Eisenhower issued the Victory Order of the Day to commend the Allied troops on their victory in Europe, we are humbled to be moving forward on this historic project that will honor both him and the soldiers he led. As always, thank you for your continued support. Should you have questions about the Dwight D.
