Public Programs

  1. Lunch & Learn: The White House Historical Association and the 2019 Eisenhower Ornament

    July 25, 2019, 12:00 PM @ Visitors Center Auditorium

The White House Historical Association's Official 2019 White House Christmas Ornament honors President Dwight D. Eisenhower, symbolizing his commitment to innovation. Eisenhower was the first president to fly in a helicopter while in office in July 1957, and thereafter the helicopter became a feature of White House life. It was often used by the president to commute short distances, demonstrating to the public and the world that it was safe mode of transportation. The 2019 White House Christmas Ornament can be purchased from the Eisenhower Presidential Library gift shop. This program is free and open to the public courtesy of the Jeffcoat Memorial Foundation and the Friends of the Eisenhower Foundation. A light lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
