  1. Eisenhower's Middle Road

    October 14, 2019, 9:00 AM - March 31, 2020, 4:45 PM @ Library 2nd Floor Gallery

Dwight D. Eisenhower’s leadership style as President reflected his practical, level-headed Midwestern roots: Work from the middle to accomplish what those on the extremes saw as impossible. The exhibit "Eisenhower’s Middle Road" spotlights a prescription for peace and prosperity that guided Ike throughout his eight years in the White House. He sought balance for America – the pursuit and preservation of social gains, for instance, while refraining from government overreach. This exhibit explores six key areas reflecting that approach. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home provided content and design. Work/research was funded by a grant to the Eisenhower Foundation from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, Missouri. We extend special appreciation to the David Woods Kemper Foundation, presenting sponsor of this exhibit.

  1. Evenings at Ease: "The 1st Infantry Division and Atlantic Resolve"

    February 11, 2020, 7:00 PM @ Visitors Center Auditorium

For the first "Evenings at Ease" program of 2020, the Eisenhower Presidential Library has invited representatives from Ft. Riley's 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team and 1st Combat Aviation Brigade to share experiences from their recent Atlantic Resolve deployment. Since April 2014, U.S. Army Europe has led the Department of Defense’s Atlantic Resolve land efforts by bringing units based in the U.S. to Europe for nine months at a time. Atlantic Resolve provides these rotational units with the ability to build readiness, increase interoperability and enhance the bond between ally and partner militaries through multinational training events. Hear firsthand about training with allies, overcoming logistical challenges and overall deployment experience. This program is free and open to the public, courtesy of the Union Pacific Foundation and the Eisenhower Foundation.
