Marking the Eisenhower Foundation's 75th Anniversary

UPDATE: Thanks to the overwhelming response from our supporters, the Eisenhower Foundation is excited to announce we have met our goal of raising $75,000 in honor of our 75th anniversary! Donations from 32 states totaled $62,000 and our Board Trustees, and Staff matched this with $40,000, for a total of $102,000.

Seventy five years ago, General Dwight D. Eisenhower accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany and May 8, 1945, became known around the world as Victory in Europe Day, or VE Day.

Americans were so grateful to General Eisenhower and all World War II veterans, that just a few weeks after VE Day – in June 1945 – the Eisenhower Foundation was established through a grassroots effort of Americans with the mission to ensure the stories and values from the Greatest Generation are passed on to future generations. Your support, along with thousands of others throughout our long history, has helped us share these lessons for 75 years.

A Special Opportunity: 75 Years of History to Inspire the Next 75 Years

With our mission in mind, the Eisenhower Foundation’s Board of Directors, Trustees, and Staff have issued a challenge. If we can secure $37,500 from our loyal donors by the end of June, they will match it dollar-for-dollar – totaling $75,000 – in honor of the Eisenhower Foundation’s 75th anniversary. The gifts will be used to create a dynamic IKEducation Virtual Classroom and expand our ability to share Ike’s legacy.

You see, it is vital that we continue to teach our nation’s youth about Ike and the heroes of World War II. History shows us what Americans are capable of accomplishing, both as individuals and as a nation. Through IKEducation, we teach our youth about the trials that past generations overcame so they will have the courage and resolve to confront their own challenges. Our team of educators has been working tirelessly to develop the IKEducation Virtual Classroom so that we can continue inspiring future generations for the next 75 years.

True to our history, we believe that building the IKEducation Virtual Classroom is a community effort. After all, donors like you made the first 75 years of preserving and promoting Eisenhower’s legacy possible, therefore, it’s fitting that we turn to you again as we move forward into the next 75 years.

Your participation in this challenge will help us reach our goal of raising $75,000. When completed, the IKEducation Virtual Classroom will stand as a testament to the generosity of our wonderful donors. It has been an honor to partner with you and your families these past 75 years. This is your chance to leave a lasting impact that will inspire children for the next 75 years. Won’t you help us reach this goal?
