BIOGRAPHY

Eber Sampson's obituary states he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942 and served overseas for 2.5 years, with no mention of his service location or theater. He returned to the United States and re-enlisted for three years. He was assigned to the Airplane and Engine School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, before he was attached to a unit at Marshall Field, Fort Riley, Kansas.
